Well Hello There!
by Dan on May.27, 2009, under Brain-plosions
I’ve wrapped up my 2nd-to-last quarter of school.. I can’t wait to graduate!
I really have no idea what to talk about.. I’m hoping that by the end of this paragraph I can have a topic in mind.. Time’s up, but I have been thinking quite a bit lately about what to write about.. such topics as:
- The California court’s decision to uphold Prop 8
- Something about soccer?
- How Aptana is rocking my world (aptana.com)
- This quaint little canoe/kayak rental shop I had the pleasure of renting from this weekend (churchvillelighthouse.com)
- The season finale of 24
- LOTRO (I’m cruising around in Angmar)
- My trip next week to DC
- Really really wanting to build another computer (Please someone have a few hundred $ laying around so I can be constructive)
So let’s chat it up.. lets get a discussion going on in the comments!

For your *DERP DERP* viewing pleasure
Meet Ida
by OhYo on May.22, 2009, under News & Politics
Meet ‘Ida,’ the big ambiguous break our institutionally brainwashed minds have been waiting for. It sorta looks like a monkey, it sorta looks like a lemur and I think this is call for slamming the news with more propaganda cause we don’t have anything better to do.

Okay, even if evolution, as evolutionists urge, is simply an alteration and adaptation of genetics over time due to stress from the environment, we have to say: we’re done evolving. Also, one may have to deduce backwards-evolution is explicitly as much of a possibility as forward-evolution is. Without stress on our spoiled American lives, diabetes from a sedentary lifestyle seems to be more of a trend than growing eyes on the back of our head or those laser-fingers we’ve always dreamed of having. So if we are ‘done,’ have we really arrived to our most optimal state? It is mainstream idealists who suggest our ‘recent’ descendents in a sort of simplistic, barbaric and animalistic light, though praise our current state of comeuppance as though we’ve taken our place as masters of the universe. Have we really grown über so quickly, especially with a decrease in environmental stress? Humanism is scary; sounds more like Excusism. Even without any greater supposition than an accidental existance, evolution as a theory seems like one of those things that will regardless come to a “well that was dumb” status when looking back through the annals of history and science.
Ask the Readers: The Perfect Computer

Zach writes,
Before I say anything else, I would just like to thank the Dan and the other Zomgees for the opportunity to post on their prestigious blog. Now for the important stuff: I have a problem. Since I will be a college student as of August, I need to get a computer. This is where things get difficult because I have to balance portability, usability, cost, and the fun factor (gaming, etc.). I had originally wanted to get a Macbook, but now I am not so sure. I also though about doing a netbook and desktop, but with some of the things I have recently heard about netbooks, that might not be the best idea either. The main thing I want is something that has the functionality of a desktop paired with the portability of a laptop. That is my problem/question. What does the Zomgee community think (keeping in mind that I am not a millionaire)?
Edit: It seems the first time this was published, no emails were sent out, so I took ownership of the post and republished it ~Dan
