Reunion Extravaganza: Day 2
by OhYo on Feb.28, 2009, under Brain-plosions, Sports
Emergence… Awakening… I see the light; the light is shining bright. I rise to see the day with the sun on my face. It is glorious. The way leads me to a place of water, refreshing. Showers wash away the sorrow of the past and bring me optimism for a better day. Nourishment, it yet even comes to me before I beckon it. Hands prepare and present feasts untold. I find it energizing yet restful, though my path guides me onward without my reserve. A window is before me; yet surrounded by companions possessing their own, mine is unique in that I even now reach through it to grasp the hands of those afar off. It is wondrous; nevertheless a door summons me, whispers to me to explore the foreign land.
Sports games prevailed this day. Madden, Fifa, Tiger Woods and many other options presented themselves, but a very casual gaming day led us to rest at a nominal hour. The Henry’s, a family not seen at least by me for quite sometime, were in town and graced us with their presence. Laura slam dunked with Alfredo shrimp and croissants and then Mr. Henry busted out his laptop to show us ensuing improvements on Camp Lamoka on Tom’s 46” television. A few people had the gumption enough to send and receive phone calls with me since I’ve been down here and I am more than glad to chat with you and tell you how much more awesome it is than wherever you are. I think Saturday, we may try the beach.
Reunion Extravaganza: Day 1
by OhYo on Feb.27, 2009, under Brain-plosions
Technically it was night 1, not just day 1. About 8:30pm EST Thursday, February 26, 2006, all three Zomgees were in one vehicle. With eight days ahead of us, we spent the ride home from the airport mulling over “Were so gonna…” and a little “is Nancy Pelosi the house?” The place is HT’s crib in Fort Lauderdale, plenty of room for gaming which is exactly what we did. For at least six hours, we introduced new characters to Lord of the Rings Online, marking the first time SuperStretch entered Middle-Earth. Elves are effeminate. Grogginess ensued and overpowered even in lieu of dew (minus OhYo via SoBe from Laura).
Shortpost is short however quantity prevails in this C-c-c-c-combo breaker! In other words, there are more to show on the way so stay tuned…
(Spoiler for next time: Two-player video games aren’t conducive for three people.)
(pictures to come? i think so)
How much can we trust him?

For those of you not paying attention to current events, last night President Obama gave his first address to a joint session of Congress which once a President has been in office a year or more is known as the State of the Union Address. If you got a chance to listen to it, you may have heard a lot of things you agree with no matter which side of the isle you sit. This is because, as is usual, the State of the Union address is generally crafted to appeal to a wide audience. In this case it was well known beforehand that Obama’s speech would be modeled after those of Ronald Reagan. This should seem odd to you since the ideology of President Obama and President Reagan are about as polar opposite as is physically possible and does seem unlikely that the ideas of socialism could be presented under the shroud of conservatism but if you heard the president’s speech last night that’s exactly what you witnessed.
Crazy

The school that I go to is… odd. Things such as the one-man Karl Marx in modern culture play tend to pop up among the “free-thinkers”. You’ll also find various calls to communism, 57 original flavors of eastern religions, people who walk around in bare feet (yes, bathrooms are frequented by them..), and the largest population of adult males aged 17-24 who don’t shower. Ever.
So I wasn’t exactly surprised when I saw this at school: (continue reading…)
Music post: Henry Purcell

Okay either there’s a demand for Zepuka or there’s a demand for more music posts. Probably both, but finding out these sorts of things will take time and effort we simply don’t have. So let’s just bank on it and see if it works! I mean seriously, what do we have to lose?
