Project: Carputer – Part 2
by Dan on Jul.23, 2008, under Carputer
So OhYo and I just got back in from working for a couple hours on the new carputer.. Its coming along. I sure took a lot of flak from both he and my dad about how I did things… But that’s how they are, what can I say?
Below are a few pics of how it looks and a quick (30 min) Google Sketchup render of what I’m thinking.

Ok, I’m failing to see how that dash resembles anything in the render….

Key word there is fail.. thats your problem not mine ^_^
The dash has a lot of detail that a 30 minute CAD session wouldn’t accommodate.

also some confusion may stem from its orientation since it’s not upright
can’t wait to see how it turns out

I knew you’d pick up on that word… unfortunately by the time I thought of that I had already clicked ’submit’

My only question is, once it’s all done and functional (not if, but when), and say, life throws another curve and you have to move, will you be able to disassemble and transport without having to scrap it completely? Just something to consider while still somewhat in the ‘design’ stages. Other wise… my wife will shoot you now for getting my wheels spinning (pun intended).

Yeah, there will be 3 parts to it, the seats and that part of the frame, the dash and that section of the frame, and the frontal area

Trust me, it is more epic in person.
